This weekend I decided to take a
trip down to the rose garden with two of my best friends, Kelsea and China. It
is hard for me to get around because I don’t have a car and Uber is very
expensive. But we ended up getting an Uber anyways. Our ultimate goal for this
trip was to take cute pictures of the flowers and ourselves obviously… because
what else do you go to a rose garden for?
It was a very nice day. The sun was
shining down hard enough so that my eyes were almost non-existent and the areas
behind my knees were sweating. I was never a rose lover. I happen to be a tulip
and baby's breath fan. But these roses were beyond beautiful. There were so many
different colored roses that I’ve never seen before. Everyone looked so happy
to be there. We weren’t able to go to the Japanese garden because there was a
fee to get in and like I said, we’re on a college student budget. We walked
around the rose garden for about 2 hours and then decided to leave and walk
around Nob Hill. We went to Urban Outfitters, which is one of my favorite
stores, and Levis.
This trip was more than a picture-taking trip for me. It really helped me reflect and get myself together. The past two weeks here has been really hard on me considering I am so far from home. Not trying to sound like a baby or anything but I’ve been crying almost everyday on the phone with my family because I miss them so much. Things are very different here and I am having trouble adjusting. But this trip helped me to realize that things aren’t so bad. I was able to bond with my two friends and understand that they’re here to help me and make this experience the best that it can be.
